The “Plus One”

of a composite step

At PlusOne Stairs, we manufacture our steps out of composite wooden boards.

Each step consists of a stable multiplex base with a solid wooden top layer.

This construction not only affords greater stability, but also makes it possible to use wider and longer boards and it is significantly more sustainable than using solid wooden steps.

It's a win-win all around!

Stability

As a result of a changeable interior climate and the effects of the constant expansion and shrinkage of the wood, solid wooden steps may deform or show cracks over time.

We specifically designed our composite boards to prevent this natural weathering process.

After correct installation in a residence with a healthy interior climate, this type of board is exceptionally stable.

Sustainability

Wood is a precious material, so we aim to use it carefully. We only use as much fine wood as necessary for our solid wooden top layer.

We ensure that all wood we use comes from sustainably managed forests. The result is a staircase that looks amazing and has a minimal environmental impact.

Seamless down to the tiniest details

The steps are attached together using tongues and grooves to form seamless connections. Additionally, we can produce composite wooden boards with a width of up to 30 cm using a single piece of wood for the top layer, thereby optimally preserving the natural patterns in the wood. Every step is unique and tells its own story.
